Liu earns National Science Foundation CAREER Award
In a milestone for the Texas A&M Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering, Zong Liu, Ph.D., has been awarded the prestigious National Science Foundation’s Faculty Early Career Development, CAREER, Award. Liu, an associate professor in the department and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service specialist, was awarded the highly competitive national honor, which supports early-career faculty who are considered rising leaders in research and education.

Advancing computer modeling of agriculture and natural resources
Two Texas A&M AgriLife Research endowments at the Texas A&M AgriLife Blackland Research and Extension Center at Temple will support improvements to computer modeling of agroecosystems and natural resources. Jaehak Jeong, Ph.D., has been named the Jimmy Williams Natural Resources Modeling Scientist. Jeong has led critical research in urban water management, water resource assessment, rice growth and management, and software development.
