Texas A&M’s ‘The World Has a Drinking Problem’ course addresses water scarcity challenges
Water is fundamental to sustaining life, yet billions of people around the world struggle to access this vital resource. To tackle this pressing issue, Douglas Kingman, Ph.D., an instructional professor in the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering, created a course for Texas A&M University students called “The World Has a Drinking Problem,” which dives deep into the complexities of global water challenges that touch every corner of the globe — including right here in Texas.
Texas A&M Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering ranked No. 1 in nation
The Texas A&M Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering shared the No. 1 ranking among undergraduate programs in the United States, according to the U.S. News & World Report “Best Colleges” list for 2025. The Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering is part of both the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the College of Engineering at Texas A&M University. The department jumped two spots from its No. 3 ranking in 2024.
