Professional Summary

Peiyang Li, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor at the Texas A&M AgriLife High Plains Research and Extension Center in Canyon. He also holds an academic appointment with the Texas A&M University (TAMU) Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering. He collaborates with multidisciplinary faculty teams (animal scientists, nutritionists, soil scientists, and fellow engineers) to conduct solution-oriented research that supports farmers and ranchers. He interacts closely with stakeholders and agricultural producer associations. His research program focuses on sustainable livestock systems engineering. It involves conducting laboratory and field studies on the measurement, mitigation, and modeling of airborne emissions (including gaseous pollutants, particulate matter, bioaerosols, and airborne pathogens), manure management and utilization, and value-added processing and utilization of co-products from agricultural production. His vision is to help advance the integrity, profitability, and biosecurity of livestock production systems in the Texas Panhandle and Southern High Plains by addressing stakeholders and industry needs, collaborating across disciplines and agencies, and mentoring the next generation of engineers and scientists. Peiyang is a member of multiple professional societies such as American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) and Water Environment Federation (WEF).
