Dr. Stephen Searcy, head of the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering, was recently honored by his alma matter, University of Missouri, with the 2019 Missouri Honor Award. Department Honored with Recent Awards

The Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering is pleased to announce that multiple faculty members were recognized for their outstanding contributions at the 2018 Annual Meeting of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE).      Dr. Sergio Capareda received the Superior Paper Award for his paper “Effective Use of Dairy Manure Mixed with Sand Bedding for Gasification which was published in the journal Transactions of the ASABE. BAEN Alumni Awarded at Annual ASABE Meeting

Several Biological and Agricultural Engineering alumni were recognized for outstanding achievement at the 2018 Annual Meeting of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) in July. Yufeng Ge ’07 is the recipient of the New Holland Young Researcher Award. Ge received the award in recognition of his work developing sensing technologies to monitor plant stress. Yufeng earned his doctoral degree in the department, and subsequently was appointed a Research Assistant Professor while working with Dr. Alex Thomasson. Karthikeyan Appointed Program Chair for Water Management & Hydrological Science

Dr. Karthikeyan, affectionately called Dr. K by his students, was recently appointed as the Program Chair for the Water Management & Hydrological Science (WMHS) Interdisciplinary Program (IDP). This graduate program was created in 2005 to foster the discovery and application of knowledge about water management, conservation, treatment, and recycling. Being the second largest IDP at Texas A&M University, the program offers a wide range of water-related courses that students can take. Mohanty elected Fellow for American Association for Advancement of Science

The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineering (ASABE) held their annual international meeting from July 17th-20th at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando, Florida. A Successful ASABE Texas Section Meeting

The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) Texas Section Meeting was recently held on October 5th through October 7th, 2016 in Lubbock, Texas. The meeting seeks to incorporate continuing education for agricultural and engineering professionals, allows for networking between industry professionals and students, and updates members about advances in the field. Generally, the first day allows for networking and socializing among members, particularly students.
